Alicia en el pais de las maravillas / Alice in wonderland

Volviendo a los cuentos populares y para despedir la primavera, os traigo a Alicia.  Para sus aventuras lleva las botas que por suerte yo misma pude comprar en las rebajas de invierno, un ligero y femenino vestido blanco y negro, un paraguas de corazones rojos, un juego de llaves antiguas que abren misteriosas puertas y algunos accesorios. Por supuesto no podíamos olvidar al Gato de Cheshire. Me encanta la paleta de colores blanco, negro, rojo y azul pastel. ¿Os tomaríais un té y una magdalena con esta reina de corazones? Tentador, ¿eh?

Going back to the tales theme and as a way to say goodbye spring, today it’s the turn for Alice. She wears a pair of pale blue boots that I was lucky enough to get in the winter sales, a feminine and light black and white dress, a red hearts umbrella, some vintage keys that open mysterious doors and some accessories. We couldn’t miss the Cheshire Cat, of course. I love the white, black, red and pale blue palette. Would you have a tea and a cupcake with this Queen of Hearts? Tempting, right?

Tutorial:Mitones / Mitts

 Como lo prometido es deuda, aunque ya estamos en primavera, hoy hablamos de los mitones. Soy bastante friolera por lo que mis manos y pies no entren en calor facilmente. Los guantes no me resultan prácticos pues normalmente cuando no trabajo, voy acompañada de mi peque y una mamá necesita dos manos. Esto mitones han sido mis compañeros el pasado invierno, y se pueden hacer facilmente, siguiendo las instruciones de "diamond texture Mitts" en knitpicks.com. Para los aumentos del dedo pulgar, utilicé una tutorial de youtube, que es más fácil seguir que unas instrucciones escritas. Se pueden hacer variaciones con diferentes motivos, a rayas..., e incluso la parte del elástico más o menos larga. ¿Os animáis?

  As I promised, tough we are already in spring today I’m posting about mitts. (I already told you the happy reason why I haven’t post recently). I don’t cope very well with cold weather because my hands and feet get cold quite easily. I find gloves vey unpractical cause when I’m not working I’m always with my little one, and a mammy needs both hands. These mitts had been with me all the winter and they can be knitted without problems if you follow the directions for “diamond texture Mitts” found in www.Knitpicks.com. I used a video for the Gusset Increased to make the thumb, found in youtube easier to follow if you haven’t done this before. You could make variations with different motifs, stripes…even changing the length of the mitts to cover more your arms. Will you give it a try? I’d love to see the results J

¡Ya he vuelto! /I´m back!

Ya estoy de vuelta. Si aún seguís por ahí, gracias por vuestra paciencia. Primero quería disculparme por mi ausencia en los últimos meses y daros una buena noticia: estoy esperando mi segundo bebé. Esta ha sido la causa, ya que por algunas complicaciones dejé temporalmente de trabajar y me desconecté de todo. Ahora todo está bien y estoy ilusionada, esperando a saber si es niño o niña.

Durante los últimos meses he diseñado una invitación de boda para mi hermana,  he ayudado a preparar algunos regalitos para los invitados y también para bebés de mis amigas. El próximo sábado es el gran día. Ya os iré enseñando todo, seguiré escribiendo regularmente. Os regalo un trocito de mi primavera ¡Buen día!

I’m back! If you still there thank you so much for being so patient. First of all I’m sorry for the lack of posting but I have great news: I’m expecting my second child. That’s why I have disappeared all this time, due some complications I had to stay at home and I disconnected myself from lots of things. Now everything seems to be ok and I’m very happy waiting to know the sex of the baby.

The last few weeks I had to be seated and relaxed so I spent my time designing a weeding invitation for my sister,  helped with the making of the little presents for the guests, crocheted some more for my friend’s babies… Next Saturday it’s the big day, I can’t wait! I’ll show you all this soon as I’ll be back to regular posting. Have a nice day!

Caperucita Roja / Red Riding Hood

Siempre que leo, me gusta recrear en mi imaginación los personajes, los ambientes... Será por eso que cuando me topé con este precioso vestido rojo, pensé: perfecto para una Caperucita Roja adolescente. Le añadí unos complementos, como el fantástico anillo del zorro, el bolso búho, unas buenas botas para pasear por ese bosque idílico...todo es posible en los cuentos. He incluido información a pie de foto por si queréis daros un caprichito o para regalar ¿os parece útil? ¿Cuál es vuestro objeto favorito?

Whenever I read a book, I love to imagine the ambient, the characters and clothes… That’s probably why when I saw this beautiful red dress, I thought that it would be perfect for the Teenage Red Riding Hood. Playing with some accessories like the fantastic fox ring, the owl handbag, a pair of good boots for walking around this idyllic forest…everything is possible in tales.
