Mr. Hipster

As you may know it's Movember, yes that time of the year when men grow their moustache to make others aware of men's heath issues and support the movement. This year you can also participate exercising daily, MOVE is a new way to fundraise. Now that bearded men are going to be cooler than ever, it's the perfect opportunity to introduce you to:

He is the last amigurumi to join my clan. He loves cinema and listen to alternative bands, is vegan and interested in arts. As we are in Movemver, he is growing a beard which suits his style. Here you can see the 'before and after'.
He's become one of us already:

Espero que os haya gustado. ¡Hasta pronto!
I hope you like it. See ya!

.
As I promise, here you have the tutorial for the decorative hearts. I used materials I had at home. I have also included in the picture, some other materials that you could have from other proyects as stickers, ribbons, ...so many possibilities! I'll break it down to tree little tutorials.
Materials: hearts, toothpicks, glue, a piece of wrapping paper, a little paintbrush...
  1. The best way to hold the heart in place to work, is to use a thoothpick so you can spear it onto another surface as a sponge...
  2. Cut the paper (wrapping paper in my case), in strips of 4 0r 5 cm long.
  3. Mix the same quantity of glue and water. Use the mixture to dampen the paper. You could skip this if you are working with very fine paper.
  4. Use a paintbrush to apply the mixtur onto a little area, so you are working gradually.
  5. Apply the first strip as a ring, and so on. When you have cover an area, apply another coat of glue, to make it more durable.
  6. Continue working untill all the heart is being covered.
  7. ENJOY!(maybe a handmade decoration for mother's day)

Pequeño Noah / Little Noah

This little Noah is been inspired by my 7 years old son, it has his big black eyes, his messy hair...always thinking about new adventures with pirates, dragons or knights. I hope he doesn't lose his innocence soon! He is kind, friendly and creative and loves wearing his favourite custome since he was two, pirate . ^.^

¡FELIZ FINDE!

María, el bebé duende / María, the pixie baby

I haven´t introduced María officially , though maybe you have seen her in the blog. María is the amigurumi doll I made for my niece. Yes, the one who was born just a day after my birthday. We also share the same name and I´m lucky enough to be her godmother. María has her skin as white as snow and dark red hair. Curious eyes and a cheeky smile, she just looks as she comes from a fairytale forest.
As I always do, I started working in the head, as I like to characterize it before I start making the body. This was my first ever amigurumi doll, so the hair was a new challenge to me. I choose felt hair saw to the head, as It was going to be in a baby´s hands, and security eyes, as always. I Know she likes her so much, she would eat it. What do you think? Do you like it? ^.^

Customiza tu armario / Customize your wardrobe

Imagino muchas aplicaciones y diferentes motivos flores, monstrous, comecocos... Espero vuestros comentarios.^.^

PATCHES WITH ♥♥♥

Recently, I have seen ♥ patches everywhere on jumpers, trousers, pockets... I never thought about doing it, until yesterday when I found some jeans that really need them. I don´t mind worn out jeans but it depens on what you are showing, do you know what I mean?
Materials: denim patches, sharp scissors,an iron and the garment you want to use.
  1. Fold the patch verticaly, right in the middle, repeat now fold it horizontaly. Try to do it as perfect as you can as it can affect the end result: two perfect hearts totaly simetrical. (you could use some pins if you like)
  2. Cut the top of the heart starting from the outside until you reach the middle.
  3. Once you reach that point, unfold it and there you have it, two hearts. We have dupliceted the number of patches.
  4. You should iron the area to avoid crease. Place the heart and iron following the  manufacturer instructions. That´s it! Quick and easy!
I can imagine different aplications and motifs: fllowers, monsters... I know two little children who are going to have the coolest custom patches. Have you done it? How did you used them?  I'm looking foward to read your comments. ^.^

Amigurumi: conejo / rabbit

I was looking at some pictures from 2012, when I found this cute rabbit. I totally forgot about it, I made it for my niece. I hope that I can encourage you, with a peek at the process, to start making amigurumis If you haven't dare yet. The pattern is from the book "Super-cute Crochet: Make Your Own Amigurumi Family ", with my personal touch. Maybe something to make for Easter. You can tell by the look of her face that she would be happy with some Easter eggs around. ^.^

Y no estoy hablando derrochar.
¡DIVERTIROS! ^.^

VALENTINES

Do you celebrate Valentine´s day? Maybe you dedicate that day to you partner, or on the contrary do you think that it´s just another celebration to make us consume? I presonally think that if you have someone special you should celebrate it. I'm not talking about wasting money. It's up to you how much you want to spend or if you just want to have a nice gesture with your love one. There are so many proyects for a low budget. I put together some easy and quick ideas that you could do with your little ones:
  • Prepare a nice breakfast, or simply using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut BISCUITS, apples, toast, cheese...
  • Make your own confetti that can be use to decorated a tablecloth, a card, a present...
  • Use candles and flowers to create a romantic atmosphere, it's not original but it works  every time. I have use some cut outs (from the paper that I cut the confetti) and a jar to make the candle vase
  • Origami heart. I followed this tutorial. It's easy and it's a pagemarker too.
  • Make a private playlist in youtube for that special person in your life
  • Put a frame to a photo with a special  meaning, and write a note
  • Surprise him/her  writting a letter like in "older times" and send it without a sender´s name

ENJOY! ^.^

Free amigurumi tutorial: Buho / Owl

  • Cerrar
Ojos (turquesa):2
  • 6 CS en  círculo mágico
  • 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (12puntos)
  • terminar con un punto sencillo
Cola (turquesa y verde claro)
  • 6 CS en  círculo mágico (verde)
  • 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (12puntos)(turquesa)
  • terminar con un punto sencillo
Alas (crema):2
  • 6 CS en  círculo mágico (verde)
  • 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (12puntos)
  • 3 CS, 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (15puntos)
  • 1 CS alrededor en las 3 siguientes vueltas
  • Cerrar
ASEMBLAJE:

Recently I started making  little accessories for my little baby girl. This are felt broches that she wears on her clothes ( specially if she is wearing his brother´s), or pinned in a hairband. I must admit sometimes I use them too just to add some color to a dark jacket or jumper. My son has also two that he loves ( the cocodrile and the clover). The best thing about it is that just using felt scratches and your imagination it can be done in little time.

Muchas gracias :)

I made these baby booties when we were looking for our second child. I was so happy to use them for my baby girl. They seemed made for her chubby feet. I found the tutorial here and I added some details, but there are lots of tutorials on the web. Sadly they don´t fit anymore, hasn´t this girl grown! Now I´m debating if I should made another pair now that she loves taking her shoes and socks of, but they are so cute! Let me Know if you give it a go. I´d love to read your comments or feedback answering to the question on the right column of the blog. Thank you so much :)
