.
As I promise, here you have the tutorial for the decorative hearts. I used materials I had at home. I have also included in the picture, some other materials that you could have from other proyects as stickers, ribbons, ...so many possibilities! I'll break it down to tree little tutorials.
Materials: hearts, toothpicks, glue, a piece of wrapping paper, a little paintbrush...
  1. The best way to hold the heart in place to work, is to use a thoothpick so you can spear it onto another surface as a sponge...
  2. Cut the paper (wrapping paper in my case), in strips of 4 0r 5 cm long.
  3. Mix the same quantity of glue and water. Use the mixture to dampen the paper. You could skip this if you are working with very fine paper.
  4. Use a paintbrush to apply the mixtur onto a little area, so you are working gradually.
  5. Apply the first strip as a ring, and so on. When you have cover an area, apply another coat of glue, to make it more durable.
  6. Continue working untill all the heart is being covered.
  7. ENJOY!(maybe a handmade decoration for mother's day)

Now that kids are on holidays, with rainy days... sometimes we don't know how to keep  them busy. My son is not very crafty, but it depens in what you offer him to do...

STAMPS

  • You need: a shapecutter, or precut foam shapes, or a piece of foam, doble side adhesive tape, bottle tops, an inkpad and a surface to print.
  • Choose the cut shapes of foam. The print will be a mirror image of the design you use, so be careful when you're working with letters and numbers. Stick the shape to the bottle top with the tape, and you're ready to go!
  • Make sure all the design is covered with ink, and with a steady had place it on the paper /surface, and press it down.
  • It would be useful to decorate a present, a card...  We will print some fabric next time. Did you enjoy it? I hope that at least kids have been entertain with this craft. ^.^

Free amigurumi tutorial: Buho / Owl

  • Cerrar
Ojos (turquesa):2
  • 6 CS en  círculo mágico
  • 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (12puntos)
  • terminar con un punto sencillo
Cola (turquesa y verde claro)
  • 6 CS en  círculo mágico (verde)
  • 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (12puntos)(turquesa)
  • terminar con un punto sencillo
Alas (crema):2
  • 6 CS en  círculo mágico (verde)
  • 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (12puntos)
  • 3 CS, 2 CS en el siguente CS, toda la vuelta (15puntos)
  • 1 CS alrededor en las 3 siguientes vueltas
  • Cerrar
ASEMBLAJE:

Muchas gracias :)

I made these baby booties when we were looking for our second child. I was so happy to use them for my baby girl. They seemed made for her chubby feet. I found the tutorial here and I added some details, but there are lots of tutorials on the web. Sadly they don´t fit anymore, hasn´t this girl grown! Now I´m debating if I should made another pair now that she loves taking her shoes and socks of, but they are so cute! Let me Know if you give it a go. I´d love to read your comments or feedback answering to the question on the right column of the blog. Thank you so much :)

    Tutorial:Mitones / Mitts

As I promised, tough we are already in spring today I’m posting about mitts. (I already told you the happy reason why I haven’t post recently). I don’t cope very well with cold weather because my hands and feet get cold quite easily. I find gloves vey unpractical cause when I’m not working I’m always with my little one, and a mammy needs both hands. These mitts had been with me all the winter and they can be knitted without problems if you follow the directions for “diamond texture Mitts” found in www.Knitpicks.com. I used a video for the Gusset Increased to make the thumb, found in youtube easier to follow if you haven’t done this before. You could make variations with different motifs, stripes…even changing the length of the mitts to cover more your arms. Will you give it a try? I’d love to see the results J
